Efficient local solutions for the management and recovery of polluted excavated material
Discover the Southwest Biocenter Platform (BSO)
Located in the Gironde department (33), the Biocentre du Sud-Ouest is a biological treatment platform for polluted soil.
It offers a treatment capacity of 30,000 t/year. Ideally located, 20km from Bordeaux, the facility provides treatment solutions for the entire Bordeaux area.
The South-West biocenter takes care of materials polluted with biodegradable organic compounds such as fuel oil, crude oil, diesel, kerosene. Once recovered, the soil is reused for example as fill material or in landscaping projects.
The agency's expertise
Non-impacted materials, or those that cannot be treated on site, are grouped together and directed towards ad hoc external channels (recovery and/or treatment).
Biological degradation (with or without stimulation) is achieved by conditioning and placing the excavated soil in a biopile or biotank. The control of chemical, physical and biological parameters creates a favorable environment for the development of micro-organisms that will eliminate the organic pollutants.
Taking charge of the complete cycle of treatment of polluted materials until their final recovery, our teams ensure their traceability in the greatest respect of the regulatory and environmental requirements:
- Installation Classified for the Protection of the Environment (ICPE) AP of 12/01/2017 and APC of 24/01/2018
- Acceptance procedure: Waste identification sheet (FID), Prior Acceptance Certificate (CAP)
- Traceability of materials (BSD, weighing, register…)
- Autonomous weighing on site by weighbridge with follow-up software for the traceability of the receptions
- Soil, stone and gravel (including excavated material from contaminated sites)
- Solid waste and sludge from soil and groundwater decontamination
- Track ballast
- Sludge from oil separators
- Dredging sludge
waste from grit removal - Waste from sewer cleaning (networks and stormwater management structures)
- Green waste
