System engineering for cigéo project

Ortec was selected to carry out system engineering studies for the Centre Industriel De Stockage Géologique project (CIGÉO – industrial centre for geological storage), the future radioactive waste storage site for French nuclear facilities. Our field of activity includes dependability, integrated logistic support, requirement engineering, project management and control. A vast complex comprising surface facilities to receive and prepare waste packages, underground facilities to store them and a funicular railway linking the two sites, Cigéo is expected to enter service by 2025.
