The Ortec group is awarded its third Gold EcoVadis certificate
Third EcoVadis certification for the Ortec Group and its subsidiaries
In 2017, the Ortec Industrie and Ortec Environnement subsidiaries were given the “Gold” rating by EcoVadis. Now in 2018, it is the turn of the SOM subsidiary which specialises in engineering services to join the ranks of the most high-performance companies in terms of CSR. In practical terms, this means that the independent rating agency, EcoVadis, has awarded the Ortec Group subsidiaries the gold medal, i.e. a score of between 62 and 100 points, corresponding to the highest level of commitment. The Ortec Group is therefore positioned among the top 5% of the most advanced companies in terms of CSR. EcoVadis scores and rankings are based on 21 criteria, grouped into four families: “social”, “environment”, “business ethics” and “responsible purchasing”.

EcoVadis – when buyers and suppliers speak the same language
“Being certified Gold” is an important guarantee of quality for our customers and partners,” continues the Ortec Group CSR Manager. Indeed, since its creation in 2007, EcoVadis has become the trusted partner of the procurement teams of almost 175 large companies. EcoVadis, the rating agency that launched the first collaborative platform to offer sustainable development performance assessments, now enables buyers and suppliers to speak the same language, allowing them to be fully in step with the criteria that define their respective CSR performance for successful collaborations, based on mutual trust and values.
EcoVadisis a unique assessment methodology. The rating agency has defined its 21 CSR criteria based on international Sustainable Development standards. It targets the relevant criteria through a questionnaire tailored to the business sector and the geographic location of the company being assessed. A score of 0 to 100 points is awarded based on the answers provided, and companies are rated as Bronze, Silver or Gold.
Although, for certain major customers, the EcoVadis assessment represents a condition for supplier listing, Ortec has decided to have its Ortec Industrie, Ortec Environnement and SOM subsidiaries assessed on a voluntary basis. Building on the results obtained and aiming to place all its activities under the same CSR quality requirement, the Group will continue this assessment process with EcoVadis for its other subsidiaries. Furthermore, the collaborative platform, set up by EcoVadis, allows the Ortec Group to remain in constant contact with its customers, thereby giving them the opportunity to communicate on CSR improvement actions.
