Discover the Meece Soil Treatment Facility covering the Midlands & Northwest
Located in Staffordshire, Meece is a biological treatment facility for contaminated soils, CDE & process wastes.
The facility covers 6250m² & and has a treatment capacity of 59,999 t/year hazardous.
Meece STF provides biological treatment (bioremediation) for materials contaminated with organic compounds such as petrol, diesel, kerosene & other oils. expertises
With its expertise in the management of impacted materials, our team receives, controls, analyses and sorts the excavated material. This characterisation makes it possible to determine the path of the soil within the facility and to carry out the appropriate management according to the type of material, pre-determined location post-treatment, and contaminant and concentration levels.
Biological remediation (with or without stimulation) is achieved by conditioning and placing the excavated soil in a biopile. The control of chemical, physical and biological parameters creates a favourable environment for the development of micro-organisms that reduce the organic contamination.
Biogenies process offers full traceability and manages the contaminated material cycle from same day assessment & authorisation through to final beneficial reuse & recovery. Our key focus is compliance & is fully permitted by the regulator.
- Soil & stone (including excavated material from contaminated sites)
- Solid waste and dewatered sludge from soil and groundwater remediation
- Track ballast
- Dredging sediments
- Road sweeping waste
- Filter cakes from material washing facilities
- Organic & WAC failing waste
