Located in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, Biogénie Trecatti is a biological and physical treatment platform for contaminated soil, construction, demolition and excavation (CDE) waste, and industrial waste.
The facility covers 3,317 m² and has a treatment capacity of 30,000 t/year of hazardous waste.
Trecatti STF provides biological treatment (bioremediation) for materials contaminated with organic compounds such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and other hydrocarbons. The treated and recovered materials are reused as part of the site restoration program, avoiding landfill disposal and the associated taxes.
Trecatti also treats soil contaminated with bonded asbestos fragments through manual sorting and recovery processes.
Agency expertise
With its expertise in the management of impacted materials, our team receives, controls, analyzes, and sorts excavated materials. This characterization makes it possible to determine the soil treatment pathway within the platform and to carry out the appropriate handling according to the type of material, the predetermined location after treatment, and pollutant concentration levels.
Bioremediation (with or without stimulation) is achieved by conditioning excavated soil and placing it in biopiles. Control of chemical, physical, and biological parameters creates an environment favorable to the development of microorganisms, which reduce organic contamination.
