Discover the Biogénie Echarcon platform
Located in the Essonne department (91), Biogénie Echarcon is a biological treatment platform for contaminated soil.
The platform covers 40,470 m2, has a treatment capacity of 65,000 t/year, and a transit capacity of 90,000 t at any time, with an annual limit to be counted within the 300,000 t authorized per year.
Biogénie Echarcon handles materials contaminated with biodegradable organic compounds such as fuel oil, crude oil, diesel, and kerosene. The recovered soil is reused, for example, as backfill material or as part of landscape redevelopment projects.
Agency expertise
With its expertise in the management of impacted materials, our team receives, controls, analyzes, and sorts excavated construction materials. This characterization makes it possible to determine the soil treatment pathway within the platform and to carry out the appropriate handling according to the type of pollutant and its concentration levels.
Non-impacted materials, or materials that cannot be treated on site, are consolidated and sent to appropriate external channels (recovery and/or treatment).
Biological degradation (with or without stimulation) is achieved by conditioning and placing the excavated soil in biopiles and biotanks. The control of chemical, physical and biological parameters creates a favorable environment for the development of micro-organisms that will eliminate the organic contaminants
Managing the full treatment cycle for contaminated materials through to final recovery, our teams ensure traceability in full compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements:
- Classified Installation for Environmental Protection (ICPE), Prefectural Order No. 2018-DCAT-BEPE-149 of 13/07/2018
- Acceptance procedure: Waste Identification Form (FID), Prior Acceptance Certificate (CAP)
- Material traceability (BSD, weighing, registers, etc.)
- Independent on-site weighing using weighbridge and tracking software to ensure traceability of incoming materials
- Soil, stones, and gravel, including excavated materials from contaminated sites
- Solid waste and sludge from soil and groundwater decontamination
- Track ballast
- Bituminous mixtures
- Waste/sludge extracted from hydrocarbon separators
- Dredging sludge
- Grit removal waste
- Waste from sewer cleaning (stormwater and drainage systems)
