Brunet has found a place in the sun
Taking the decision to become involved in photovoltaics can be a story of meeting new people… “Five years ago, we hired an employee with experience in photovoltaics, which was the driving force behind our decision to move into this sector. Our long-standing expertise and the projects carried out within the Group, notably the installation of solar roofs and EV charging stations in Ortec branches, made us a reliable choice. Our competitors were already established, so we had to react” recalls Loïc Thomas, the manager of the agency in Saintes and its 46 employees.
… to support clients through regulatory changes
Since then, our teams have undergone extensive training in these new fields, and our business, which began with a few local projects, has rapidly expanded. Commercial buildings, supermarkets, parking lots, nursing homes, gyms… “As a specialist in electrical installations, who knows their customers’ equipment inside out, we can connect their photovoltaic systems to their electrical installations. Our clients already knew us for our expertise in electricity, plumbing, etc. Now, they also turn to us for renewable solutions, which makes our offerings truly complementary” continues Loïc Thomas.
Complementary expertise and services
New regulations requiring professionals to install solar panels on new buildings have also accelerated the growth of these new activities. The fact that Brunet’s expertise has since been transferred to other agencies wishing to follow this virtuous trajectory is proof that the momentum is well and truly underway. “We’re at the heart of the energy transition, and our expertise is located at the junction of various techniques that help to bring it about” concludes Loïc Thomas.
Brunet’s 3-pronged low-carbon strategy:
- Energy savings:
Analysis of our customers’ operating habits to help them reduce their energy consumption - Energy efficiency:
Consultancy visits leading to recommendations for the installation of energy-saving equipment (timers, aerators, etc.) - Low-carbon transition:
Installation of EV charging stations for fleet electrification and low-carbon energy production equipment, especially photovoltaic systems.
