Ortec Environnement Le Havre provides a wide range of services for a urea producer in Normandy. The company recently praised Ortec’s teams for their impeccable safety record: zero accidents since 2018.
With approximately 130 employees, Ortec Environnement Le Havre carries out industrial maintenance and cleaning operations. Since 2016, its teams have been responsible for hazardous waste pumping and transportation, ultra-high-pressure cleaning, cryogenic cleaning, microblasting, and facility management (locksmithing, plumbing) at the Yara site in Gonfreville-l’Orcher. This site is dedicated to producing industrial solutions such as exhaust gas cleaning systems for ships and the chemical industry, additive for fuel and environmental applications, as well as animal nutrition products.
“Our employees have a diverse range of expertise, allowing us to provide a broad range of services – from furniture installation to pumping and cleaning during major unit shutdowns—all with a strong safety culture” explains Aurélien Caillot, Deputy Agency Director.
Zero safety incidents at this Seveso 2 site
The agency was praised by the client for its safety achievements. Since 2018, no safety incidents have been recorded at this high-threshold Seveso 2 site, which presents inherent risks associated with chemical plants: chemicals, pressurized gases, noise, working at height, etc. These results reinforce our commitment to safety, with humility and determination.

Safety is a key priority for new employees. They receive specific onboarding sessions, including risk awareness training, contract presentation, safety questionnaires and a mentorship program, followed by regular progress reviews. Additionally, field safety culture is reinforced by managers, from the Team Leader to the Agency Manager.
