Orys has entered into a partnership with IFCEN and Atom’Emploi, the Pôle Emploi Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes employment agency dedicated to the nuclear industry, to train jobseekers for a qualification in nuclear valves operation. The aim is to help jobseekers return to work in a sector that is recruiting.

Through this partnership, Orys, IFCEN and Atom’Emploi are driving forward the recruitment of tomorrow’s “nuclear” valve operators for the CIVAR (South-East) region’s nuclear power plants.

This initiative is particularly suited to individuals who:

  • are seeking employment or are registered with local employment agencies
  • reside in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region
  • have National Vocational Qualifications such as BEP or CAP

Training leading to a permanent contract (CDI)

In practice, the program consists of 315 hours of training provided by IFCEN, which specializes in developing skills in sensitive environments. “Orys will recruit from the pool of candidates and provide support during training” explains Christine Lussigny, Orys Nuclear Industry Recruitment Manager, who is involved in this partnership alongside Eric Biasini and Mickael Ryckebusch, respectively Branch Manager and Assistent Project Manager at the Orys Pierrelatte branch. “Candidates will learn the basics of valves and fittings, and undergo specialized training in nuclear culture. The training courses will lead to permanent employment contracts (CDI) .  The new employees will then work in pairs with a tutor, to acquire full experience of the job.

Valves: a growing sector

Training initiatives in metallurgy (valves, piping, boiler-making), especially in the nuclear environment, are on the increase in a sector that is constantly on the lookout for new talents to meet the growing needs of the nuclear industry.

Orys Pierrelatte’s teams are constantly working on recruitment initiatives, as demonstrated by two special recruitment days organized at the branch on October 22 and 25, for both new and experienced candidates.
