The Ortec Group welcomes France’s top welders

Orys, a subsidiary of the Ortec Group, is pleased to welcome fifty participants for the “French Welding Championship – Welders 2.0” selections at its workshop in Pierrelatte on December 9th.

Orys, a subsidiary of the Ortec Group specializing in metallurgical work, is expecting around fifty candidates to take part in the practical selection rounds of the “French Welding Championship – Welders 2.0” on December 9 at its welding workshop in Pierrelatte. This stage of the competition involves the fusion assembly of one or more metal parts. The best candidates selected will have the opportunity to advance to the finals in May 2023 in Vierzon.

Nicolas, a welder at the Orys Belleville branch, was the winner of the 2022 edition. This victory reflected the Ortec Group’s efforts in recruiting welders capable of supporting the most complex projects of clients in the industrial and nuclear energy sectors.

At the heart of the Ortec Group’s welding expertise

Hosting the “practical” welding competition in Pierrelatte’s 4.0 workshop (4,000 m²) demonstrates the determination of the Ortec Group and its subsidiary Orys to equip themselves with facilities that meet the objectives of developing welding expertise and large-scale worksites. The workshop, dedicated to the manufacture of nuclear-grade stainless steel piping with digitized process monitoring, has made it possible to meet the requirements of new projects such as the EAS-u contract for the installation of new safety circuits for ten of EDF’s nuclear reactors.
