Ah the beautiful bacchants of solidarity!

The Ortec Group is a partner of the 4th edition of the Bacchantes run on November 20th, 2022 in Aix-en-Provence. Numerous Group employees will take part in the run to raise funds for the fight against prostate cancer.

“Running with a moustache against prostate cancer” is the slogan of the Bacchantes race which will take place on November 20th in Aix-en-Provence. Special feature: the participants -men and women- are invited to wear a moustache (natural, glued or drawn). But beyond the symbolism, this 8 km race in the historical center of Aix is a real meeting to raise awareness and help in the fight against prostate cancer. A disease that affects 50,000 men and causes 8,000 deaths each year. During the last edition, more than 1,000 runners participated.

Ortec partners to help in the fight against cancer

The Ortec Group, through its “La Vie Ensemble” program, is a partner in this event. A team wearing the Group’s colors will be at the start of the “Challenge Entreprises”. Ortec’s commitment to the fight against breast cancer echoes that of the Pink October and the participation of female employees in the Triathlon des Roses.

Support for studies on the quality of life of patients

The organizers are mobilized alongside the French Association of Urology in the framework of research grants for young urologists. All funds collected from race registrations will be donated to the endowment fund dedicated to the “S’accomplir avec les Bacchantes” study.

“Launched in 2022, this survey, which will last until 2024, evaluates the improvement in the quality of life of patients operated on for prostate cancer following a program that includes physical activity, diet and psychological aspects” explains Doctor David Barriol, urological surgeon at the Hôpital Privé de Provence and president of the association Les Bacchantes Aix-en-Provence.
